Parent Workshops

Staff members provide individual guidance to parents of children enrolled in therapy regarding a range of communication and related behavioral issues.

Small group workshops are available for parents on topics designed to increase effectiveness of therapy at home and in school, as well as for parents seeking information and strategies to assist their children with language development, oral and written expression, and reading.

 

Workshop topics include:

  • Facilitating speech and language development

  • Reading with your child to enhance the development of literacy

  • Enhancing language processing and listening skills

  • Empowering effective speaking, listening, and literacy

  • Supporting behavior management through effective communication

  • Enhancing organizational skills for academic success

  • Supporting fluency in the preschool child

  • Vocal hygiene and the reduction of vocal abuse for chronically hoarse children
